This project takes its name from historian Carlo Ginzburg’s study of Menocchio, a 16th-century Italian miller put on trial for heresy after sharing his radical worldview. Using Google Street View, the work retraces the paths Menocchio once walked while spreading his ideas. Along these routes, digital glitches and visual anomalies are collected—echoes of a world that is fractured, unstable, and unpredictable. The work draws a parallel between the distortions of history and the flaws of our digital present, asking how stories are shaped, filtered, and remembered.
